Amplify the voices of young people to equip caring adults to care better
The Springtide team is made of people who are passionate about how young people are exploring and engaging with religion, spirituality, and belief.
Our work is informed by a diverse set of voices including staff, a Research Advisory Board, interns and the Springtide Ambassadors. We live our mission by intentionally including young people’s involvement throughout the organization.
Our team is fully remote and work from home. We coordinate work across the United States using Microsoft Teams as our “office.” Our excellent IT team provides robust support so everyone can do their best work. We gather in-person several times each year for critical meetings with travel paid for by the organization.
Writer in Residence
The Springtide Writer in Residence is 9-month appointment designed to nurture and encourage aspiring writers through one-on-one mentoring, workshopping and feedback, prompts and assignments, and opportunities for skill-building, bylines, networking, and hands-on experience in publishing and production. Among other opportunities, this residency explores and enhances competencies in data and report writing, news and blog writing, reflective and essay writing, and newsletter and copywriting. In addition to the prompts and work assigned by Springtide, the Writer in Residence will propose a residency-long project and work with their mentor to outline, draft, and finalize a work.
Springtide Research Institute collects, analyzes, and publishes social science data, both quantitative and qualitative, from 13-25-year-olds that we use to shape actionable insights in order to help people serve that population better. We also work with external partners who need custom research services. We are looking for contractors to work on projects with us, starting at 10 hours a week at $20/hour. If you are a skilled social science researcher or graduate student, interested in working with us, please send your cover letter and resume to Megan Bissell, Head of Research for SRI, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Springtide offers internships for undergraduate or graduate students during the fall, spring, and summer semesters to students who are currently enrolled in an accredited university and have a passion for helping to end social isolation among young people through a combination of research and creative partnerships. Interns assist with a variety of tasks according to Springtide’s needs and the intern’s specific skills with four different placements options in: Research, Editorial, Media Relations, or Community Engagement. Each intern will have the opportunity to learn about the entire organization, including strategic direction, funding sources, and management.
