Being Church in the Time of Covid

 In Podcast Appearance

Springtide Community Engagement Specialist Marte Aboagye was a featured guest on Princeton Theological Seminary’s (PTS) Being Church in the Time of COVID podcast in their Rites of Passage episode. In this episode, they asked the question: What impact has COVID-19 had on your community’s rituals and rites of passage?

Marte discussed grounding rites of passage in the lived experiences of young people, and the need to deepen our understanding of what young people need as we cultivate rites of passage both for and with them. In addition to Springtide, Rev. Sue Phillips, an ordained minister and co-founder of the Sacred Design Lab, and Rev. Dr. Kenda Creasy Dean, of Ministry Incubators and PTS, discussed the need for imagination, disruption, and innovation in ministry with the team at PTS’s Office of Continuing Education. Being Church in the Time of Covid is hosted by Sushama Austin-Connor and Abigail Visco Rusert, Springtide Research Advisory Board member and director of the Institute for Youth Ministry.
